I’m speaking at Great Homeschool Conventions again this year. I’ll be at two of them: Texas and California. Registration opened October 1st and now is the time to get the cheapest pricing, so if you know you’re going, might as well register.

Speaking of conferences and conventions, there are only a few spots left at the AO Camp Meeting in April 2019, if that’s more your style. I’ll be there, too! ♥ I’ve been privy to enough of the details to know it’s going to be very special. ♥

We’ve recently finished some read alouds and started some new ones. Goodness, reading aloud is my favorite thing! ♥ Right now I’m reading:

About four years ago I realized that having just one read aloud wasn’t going to cut it. I had started skipping because “everyone” wasn’t there. It took me a while to realize that we were going to do a lot less reading if having “everyone” there was still a criteria when Some People were getting big and going places. So now we always have three or four going and it works much better because I just pull the book that is appropriate for who is present at the time.

E-Age-16 owns his own podcast editing and engineering business, which means he uses screens quite a bit in the evenings. I’ve read enough about blue light affecting circadian rhythms to be slightly concerned about the effect of this on his sleep quality.  Enter these ugly orange glasses. I bought them to put in his stocking for Christmas (shhh…don’t tell  him!) and since he’s mentioned the blue light fatiguing his eyes at night, I think he’ll actually wear them.

This is a win-win in my book.

This month in 2015:

DecemberTerm is a long standing tradition at our house … but I rarely talk about it anymore! It really is one of my favorite things. This post includes a look at my plans for the 2015 Advent season.
